. Are there any advantages for the employer to match a portion of the contribution I make? i'll be corrected if wrong, but i'm pretty sure theonly advantage to your employer is YOU are happier(and new employees are easier to recruit).otoh: my employer does Not match, and 'splains it this way:the match is money. it has to come from somewhere, and it only benefits "a few"....* if it comes from salaries, that hurts everyone.* if it comes from other benefits, that hurts everyone.* if it comes out of profits, that depresses the stockprice and hurts 'everyone' (we all have Options, andwe all can use ESPP).* if it comes from decreased staff, that hurts everyone (gotta take up the slack, unless YOU are theone laid-off).that last one stopped me, cuz it was said with an airof , "you bein' a trouble-maker, kid?"you decide......good luck,jp
