... ten days in hot, humid Hawaii ...

I used to lived there, but I didn't think it was humid. I think it depends where exactly you go in Hawaii. (I believe there is a an area on Kauai [the "Garden Island"] that is the wettest part of the nation. Some other areas, on other islands, have very little humidity. (Some are even desert-like.)

I also didn't think it was hot. (It gets much much much hotter in the summer here on the mainland!) The weather is pretty constant. Not too cold, not too hot. (I remember meeting my sister-in-law for the first time there at the airport. I mentioned the weather, thinking of it as nice and warm, and she commented on how she was glad to get away from all the heat and humidity back home. Then I remembered that it was summer where she was coming from. We didn't have seasons. Just palm trees.)
