0bama, acting as a petty tyrant, for the first time in our history, demands the congress forego their constitutionally granted powers and submit to his demands unconditionally as if he has usurped all the power in the land and was not elected mere President.

This is untrue. It's backwards. The President has made no unconditional unconstitutional demands of Congress. He's said he'll veto a bill that defunds Obamacare, as is his constitutional prerogative. He's asking Congress to uphold its constitutional duty to pay for things it has already "bought" and to prevent a default on the nation's debt.

In fact, the shut-down/debt-ceiling dispute isn't really between the Obama and Congress. Both houses of Congress would pass a clean continuing budget resolution (one which doesn't defund Obamacare) if it were brought to a vote. Same for raising the debt ceiling. That bears repeating since it doesn't seem to have sunk in with a lot of people. Both Houses of Congress would pass a clean continuing resolution and to raise the debt ceiling if it were put to a vote. The dispute is between a minority of representatives in the House who are using their power to intimidate the speaker and block a votes on the CR and debt-ceiling.

In other words, a very small minority of House representatives -- about 40 people, fewer than 10% -- have thrown a monkey wrench into the wheels of our democratic process because they can't get their way any other way.
