1) have you ever heard of a school shooting at a school with the ten commandments on the wall?

Six feet tall, three feet wide. A couple blocks from the University Campus. Erected in 1961. In 1966, Charles Whitman climbed the stairs of the Tower at the University of Texas, brought along several rifles and a trunkful of ammunition, and proceeded to fire at random targets, killing 13 (including a pregnant woman) and wounding 32.

Yes, I have heard of it.

The West Nickel Mines School was an Amish one-room schoolhouse. The Amish are notably religious, including prayer and religious instruction in school, and presumably the Ten Commandments in there someplace. In 2006 a gunman took hostages and shot ten girls between the ages of 6-13, killing five.

Yes, I have heard of it.

Oikos University in Oakland is a Christian University. On April 2 of this year a gunman went on campus and opened fire, killing seven and wounding others. The gunman was a former student at the religious college, and presumably had heard about "The Ten Commandments" somewhere along the way.

Yes, I have heard of it.

2) Something about good thing we have Jesus to protect our kids.

It's a full time job when there are more gun stores than Starbucks, and apparently Jesus is too busy, sometimes.
