How does claiming interest work for a home equity loan that is for 125% of the value of your equity in your home. I assume you can only claim the percentage of the interest on the loan that corresponds to your home equity. Is this correct? Also, how does points paid for this type of loan work? Can you claim all the points paid, or again is it only the percentage that applys to actual value of your home. Thanks in advance for the information.
