IRVINE, Calif. (AP) - Chip maker Broadcom Corp. said Friday it will accept $19.6 million in patent infringement damages from Qualcomm Inc., after federal judge James V. Selna gave the company the option of accepting the damages, reduced from $39.3 million, or seeking a new trial.

Broadcom said it would accept the reduced figure and will immediately seek an injunction preventing Qualcomm from making or selling third-generation WCDMA and EV-DO cellular chips.

-- Broadcom accept the cash but seek injunction, more crazy legal stuff.
