There is a new update available for Quicken 2012. It's now up to Release R7 or more precisely

I encountered the same problem updating that I documented in my mini review a while back. This time I was offered the update when opening Q but before typing in my password. It just hung and never downloaded or installed the update. When I clicked on the Q icon to restart the program and I was told quicken was already running, however a quick check in the task manager didn't show it. The error message said to reboot if I kept receiving the same message so that is what I did.

After rebooting I opened Q and checked to confirm the update had failed. I then went to this site,

downloaded the 36MB file, saved it to my desktop and then ran it from there. I did temporarily disable my anti-virus before running the update as suggested and it completed without further incident.

Is it a bug, an annoyance or some other setting causing the problem? Who knows, maybe all three but it is easily overcome by manually installing updates.

HTH my fellow Q users,
