According to a recent poll, nearly 28% of baby boomers (born 1946-1964) say they are retired. But only 11% of boomers say they are "strongly convinced" they will be able to retire in comfort. (Clearly there are some who are "retired" who would rather be working.)

25% say they'll never retire (because they can't.) A disproportionate number notes that they will have to delay retirement or not retire at all because their investments lost value in the Bush collapse of 2008.

64 percent now see Social Security as the cornerstone to their retirement, expecting it to provide as much or more than their investments, pensions, etc.
