Absolutely..my parents did the snow bird thing.....closed up the house in upstate NY, where temps got to 40 below at times...no energy used at the house..no electricity either...

Then in Fla, almost no energy needed for heat/cool all winter....and more light/sunny days...less during the days.

So they save a lot of energy.... some of which is used to transport them to FLa, but a lot less than their oil burner would have used (like now thousands of bucks and probably 1500 gallons)....

Yes, going to place where weather is good, is both good for you, and you can be saving energy too.......

Then again, it really makes little difference, since the situation is the tragedy of the commons....the less person A uses is just consumed by the billion others without thought.

As was noted earlier, it is a shame we will be at war for the next 30 years fighting over the remaining oil/natural gas resources, but we have doomed ourselves to that fate by failure to curb our energy appetite......
