Here goes:

Current regular non deductible IRA.
Contributed $2000 to this in Y2K.
Wife has no IRA
Meet income standards for Roth
So:
1.Can I open a Roth for Y2K for $2000 for self before April 16 2001?
2.Can I open a Roth for Y2K for $2000 for wife before April 16 2001
3.Can I then contribute $2000 to each of the above during and for 2001?

That would be $8000 total.

My piggybank will allow it. Will the IRS?
