Bill Gross still talks as if there were such thing as a risk premium in the markets. Surely someone as smart as he is should know that risk only exists in a world where default or failure is possible.

That world no longer exists.

So long as a corporate borrower or institutional investor has connections with the right politicians and/or monetary authorities, default and failure are literally impossible.

A bailout, refinance, extension, issuance, private placement or swap arrangement is always only a phone call (or an algorithm) away.
