I am currently 100% invested (in my 401k)in the company stock---HD---however after reading about the best investment--being the Index Fund I decided to see what their record was. I then saw that I have another option which is the Equity Growth Fund. Now I'm confused because according to the info on my quarterly fund review, the one year performance was 54.29% for the equity growth fund (-7.93) for the quarter ending 6 30, 2000----for the Equity Index Fund (Motley Fool recommends) it was 10.37% for the year--(-2.72) for the quarter and the HD stock was 30.29% for the year and (-22.13%) for the quarter.----It seems to me that the Equity Growth fund ---Putnam New Opportunities Fund is the way to go. Any foolish advice out there? I'm in it for the long term!!! The Equity Index fund that is availabe is Barclay's Global Investors Equity Index Fund. Thanks
