I wanted to roll my 401k's out of the various companies that have transitioned me(2 buy outs 2 layoffs). I was reccomended to an investment advisor who said he had a great IRA to roll over into. I did not realize until I got the paperwork that IRA also stands for Individual Retirement Annuity. This is a variable annuity, with all the fees and a limited segregated funds (state farm LC,SC,International,LTB,STB) they have a short track record in the prospectus ( 3 years). Should I get out of this ? What would be a better Individual Retirement Account ?
