Unfortunately, that's often true. Glad you were able to force the issue with your employer to obtain more reasonable options within your plan.

Thanks for the "welcome."
For the next few weeks, I won't be spending much time in Fooldom 'cause we're buying and selling houses and moving, but I'll check in on this subject,
As you have read, I'm on a campaign to educate teachers about the dangers of annuities.
