Ok, my mom, being a new grandma, wants to set up a college fund for her new grandaughter but has asked me to find out about the 529 plans. Grandma lives in New Jersey, which has a pretty good 529 plan, but grandaughter lives in Texas, which too has a pretty good plan. BUT, I really like the Vanguard plan that Nevada offers and would like to open one up there. I know that it can be transfered to any state/college when the time comes, but will grandma or grandaughter miss out on any tax advantages by opening up the plan in the great state of Nevada?

Anyone have good/bad things to say about the Nevada/vanguard plan? or the Texas or Nevada plan?
