724 Solutions Inc. wins Canadian Software Systems Award for its premier financial services software infrastructure and applications

CIPS honours 724 Solutions as part of its National Awards of Achievement
TORONTO, May 15 /CNW/ - The Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS) is honouring 724 Solutions Inc. with the Canadian Software Systems Award in a ceremony at CIPS' Informatics/Convergence 2001 conference in Calgary, AB, today. The award is part of the CIPS National Awards of Achievement sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers, and will be accepted by Alistair Rennie, General Manager, Applications Business Unit, 724 Solutions, on the company's behalf.
The Canadian Software Systems Award is awarded for a software system originating in Canada that has had a significant effect -- as evidenced by new concepts, market acceptance, increased competitiveness, or influence on later developments. Since their first introduction to the marketplace in 1999, 724 Solutions' premier financial services software infrastructure and applications have been adopted by leading financial institutions around the world -- including Bank of Montreal, Bank of America, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, and Hanvit Bank.
"724 Solutions is a great example of Canada's top talent creating software solutions with global appeal," said Kevin Brown, I.S.P., CIPS National Awards of Achievement Chair. "The company's headway into the global financial services market, and its continued innovation in delivering secure mobile transaction solutions, make 724 Solutions a very worthy recipient of the 2001 Canadian Software Systems Award."
724 Solutions' financial services technology has been enabling financial institutions to deliver secure wireless banking and brokerage offerings since May of 1999, and the company continues to add functionality to its suite of products in order to ensure that its customers are able to offer more secure, value-added services to consumers on virtually any Internet-enabled device.
"This award is certainly a great honour, and I'm proud to accept it on behalf of the global 724 Solutions team," said Rennie. "It's always rewarding to be recognized by leading IT professionals, such as the members of CIPS. As we continue to expand in regions around the world, 724 Solutions remains proud of its Canadian roots, and we are grateful for the acknowledgement from our Canadian peers."
