I have had a couple of people including myself observe that many of the Wal-Mart stores are becoming dirtier than they once were; they have more and more merchandise stacked in isles and generally in everybodys way; and it is getting more difficult to find what you are looking for.

I remember growing up that this is the same sentiment that was associated with Kmart. The only difference was that Kmart had the perception of being the place where poor people went to shop. If you look at Wal-Mart's shopper demographic their average customer's household income is about $28,000 a year compared to $40,000 for Target.

The problem became that nobody wanted to be know as a Kmart shopper, at least not where I grew up.

So, Is Wal-Mart going to become the next Kmart?
