Oh man Jedi, yes, my eyes did water watching that. Wonder Years was on in the late 1980/early 1990's, I believe. I was in high school. I LOVED that show. Many of my friends did too. It was such a great show.
You know what that show reminds me of esp the father?? Did you ever see "Life Goes On"?? It used to be on ABC on Sunday nights a couple of years before "Wonder Years." The dad was the same dad. It focused on the high functioning child with Down's Syndrome, Corky. That show has the same feel of Wonder Years in terms of wholesome quality.
By the way, I met Danica McKellar (the girl who played "Winnie" in Wonder Years) during Spring Break in South Padre, Texas back around 1994-1995 or so. I spoke to her at a bar called Charlie's and asked her whether she was "Winnie" on the show. She was quiet but then admitted that she was. It was pretty fascinating. I was in love. Unfortunately, she walked off with some friends shortly afterwards. I told all the guys I went to Padre with afterwards, and thought about her the whole time I was on Spring Break.
