Hang in there. It is tough.
As corny as it sounds, I used the old HALT thought process.
H....hunger
A....anger
L....lonely
T.....tired
I tried to figure out what I was really feelig and why when I had the cravings. Sometimes just focusing on something other than cigs works.
For me, if I was hungry, I ate a small something decadent. Or drank lots of water.
If, Angry, I screamed....or cried.
If Lonely, called someone or wrote a long overdue e-mail, even if I didn't send it.
If tired, I tried to nap or at the very least sit as still as I could.
Sometimes for me, just sitting on my hands helped.
I also went to giving myself little mini manicures when I was craving. Even if it was just rubbbing lotion onto my nails.
I brushed my teeth or flossed.
The main thing is keep yourself distracted. Believe it or not the craving will pass........until the next one. Sorry......
You can make it thru...it is like retraining yourself to be self healing instead of self medicating.
I wish you well...........
After 7 years smoke free.......still fighting it........
