If you have a video camera, take film of all of your beongings. If not do it will a still camera. Then fill out an inventory of possessions and whatever evidence of purchase and cost you might have.

Then, if you have a safe deposit box or somewhere safe outside of your insured nest, stash away this documentation.


Try storing the tape or film with a relative in another city. My insurance agent has told me stories about people who have placed their tapes in a safety deposit box at their bank down the street only to have the bank destroyed in the flood or hurricane along with the person's house.
