My opinion is "inflation." My "company" retirement is an annuity. I have had it for nearly 11 years. Same amount every month. Cost of living has, however, increased. Now with Social Security there are cost of living adjustments.
As mentioned in a previous message(#14)on this board, I am using a Charitable Remainder Trust where at least part is in stocks. Has grown about 12.8% per year. It will last longer than I or my wife will. Could not be touched by a nursing home or otherwise. I also hold stocks. My experience with "bonds" has me about 90% stock, 10% bonds at age 65.
