The credit card balances are going down, bank balances and stock investments are going up, life is good. I certainly don't a new credit card. But then . . . Tuesday's mail brings an intriguing offer from Wachovia. Rate linked to prime rate for life of the card, right now 8 1/4%. It's the lowest locked in rate I've seen recently. I'm thinking about reaching for a pen. But then . . . Turn over back of offer to check out the fine print and buried in the right, lower corner, is the annual fee: $88. No friggin' way. The pen stayed on the desk and out of my hand. |
