Sorry jo, no sympathy for emptying the till from me. Couldn't you borrow against the 403b? I work with many teachers & help establish these retirement plans - usually with a TSA (tax sheltered annuity) that offers about 18 different investment subaccounts. By-the-way, Fidelity's a pretty good investment company...
Use a financial calculator to input your monthly contribution, an assumed annual rate of return & the time period to solve for the anticipated account balance at retirement. Starting this early (and leaving the money in the account) really pays off. Good luck. PP
