Obie Media Reports 115.5% Revenue
Growth in Quarter

Net Income Increased 62.5% in the Same Period

EUGENE, Ore., Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Obie Media Corp. (Nasdaq: OBIE - news) reported
gross revenue increased 115.5 percent in the quarter ended November 30, from $4,800,465 in
1997 to $10,346,704 in 1998. Gross revenue for the year increased 72.4 percent from
$14,624,955 in 1997 to $25,218,200 in 1998. Results for fourth quarter 1998 reflect Obie Media's
acquisition of P & C Media in September 1998.

Net income in 1998 increased 50.1 percent to $1,501,179 or $0.35 per diluted share, compared to
$1,000,064 or $0.23 per diluted share in 1997. Fourth-quarter earnings increased 62.5 percent to
$583,109 or $0.13 per diluted share, compared to $358,819 or $0.08 per diluted share in the same
period in 1997.

Chairman and CEO Brian B. Obie attributed much of the company's growth to the addition of transit
advertising markets resulting from the acquisition of P & C Media, and strong sales after start-up in
British Columbia. ``In 1998 our company grew significantly, increasing our market coverage,
expanding our product offerings and enhancing our profitability,' said Mr. Obie. ``Our new transit
advertising markets on the East Coast, as well as our operations in Canada, are showing their
strength. They contributed to impressive fourth-quarter results and a very strong year overall.'
