I understand that $10,000 can be withdrawn from an IRA without paying a penalty for first time home purchases. Is this available for both traditional IRA's and Roth IRA's? Also, is the $10,000 limit a per person limitation? Can my wife and I, filing married jointly and purchasing a first home, each withdraw $10,000 from our seperate IRA's to purchase the same house for a total of $20,000 withdrawn between the two of us?
