what would be the best [cheapest] was to put $ 2,000 in QQQ for a traditional IRA?
If you already have a IRA with a broker that you can direct to purchase stock, bonds, funds, and/or whatever else the broker's service make available, you simply need to place an order for as many shares of QQQ as your $2000 will get you (11 shares as of this posting at $180 per, assuming no more than $20 commission).
If you do not already have a broker:
1. Check out the Fool's Discount Brokerage Center at http://www.fool.com/media/discountbrokeragecenter/discountbrokeragecenter.htm
2. Find one that offers the rates/features/services you like
3. Set up an account
4. Go for it, and have fun (Foolishly, of course)
Hope this helps
