Greetings to the Retirement Investing Board, from one who is not yet (eghads!) retired. I am trying to help my 84-year-old grandmother with her investments, and she wanted to know if there was an easy way to find equities that are paying dividends. Look for discount brokers and see if they have stock screening programs on their site. I think the trend has changed (say from 20 years ago) from dividen income to selling a little bit of the stock for income. Maybe look at mutual funds. Can arrange for x dollars to be paid monthly or quarterly. Part of this payment will be part of the investment so consider life spand. |
