Greetings, jake781, and welcome. You asked:

<<What is the min required distribution from my IRA at age 70 1/2? How can I calculate this? >>

It depends on what method you choose to calculate the MRD and whether you will do so over just your or your and a benficiary's life expectancy. You will find a general description of what's involved in my article "70 1/2: Ya Gotta Take It Sometime" at The procedures to be used are in IRS Publication 590 (Individual Retirement Arrangements) which you may download at See also my article "Designating Beneficiaries" at for some other items to consider.
