I'm looking into Roths for my husband and myself too.
Currently, we have a new account (not a Roth) with Freeman Welwood. I placed my first trade with them on Monday, and it went smooth as clockwork. Their customer service is the BEST of any of the online brokers I looked into.
I asked them to send Roth information and forms, and they immediately did so. They have been very helpful with any questions I have had.
Right now, we're trying to decide whether or not to purchase individual stocks for the Roths, or mutual funds. I recommend that you read the "Foolish Four and IRA's", as it has good information and suggestions for a stock picking strategy for Roths. We may decide to do that.
Also, did you know that you can buy and sell all you want to within the Roth? (The Foolish Four strategy is based on starting with four stocks, and looking at them each year, replacing those that no longer fit the criteria as needed). I did not realize that you could do unlimited buying and selling (with no tax consequences) until I read it in the Foolish Four information and had it confirmed by others on this board.
