Well, I would be glad to eliminate the Card Co's marketing expenses for me, myself and I. I'd be glad to save them the cost of paper, postage, labor, phone calls, and wear-and-tear on their equipment if THEY WOULD PROVIDE A NICE, EASY, WAY TO GET OFF THEIR DAMNED MAILING LISTS.
Oh, by the way... telling the credit reportang agencies (equifax and such) NOT to market your name, has almost no effect. There are a few persistent banks that I've never done business with (and never will) who keep sending me "pre-approved" offers, even after I've told the CRA's repeatedly not to sell my info. Their inquiries show up on the credit reports too.
I'm beginning to wonder if the get-off-mailing-lists is merely an advisory. Bank goes to CRA, gets list of people, and some people have flags saying "consumer prefers not to receive offers" and the bank just ignores the preference.
