To answer the questions posted previously:
I owned my house for 5 years.
In addition to ~10,000 in equity, I made back about 8,000 in profit from the sale.

Upon completion of the sale, I was debt free. *that is until we became married and I assumed her house debt*

I'd like to invest it. Probably in some mildly agressive stocks. Since we're both young have have strong incomes, I don't need the money any time soon.

I'm mostly curious as to what are the expected taxes on the money gained from the sale. How much should I bank on loosing next april 15 ?
