Another one for this informed board -

Okay, is it also true that I can "borrow against" my 401k to purchase a home? I have been renting which always bugs me (like giving away money). I heard that I could borrow against this money to purchase a home. If this is true, I am outta here! And how would this effect this type of retirement fund if I choose to do just that? I am set up to retire in 15 yrs (55) if I choose to do so.
