I was wondering if you could help me figure out the personal income taxes implications when working and living in different states?
I will be working out of San Francisco in the near future, but will have apartments in both SF and Chicago. If my employer has offices in both cities, can I have my home address listed as Chicago to take advantage of the lower state income tax? Are there a certain amount of days that I must work in Illinois to make this happen? How many years can I continue filing in this manner?
