For the record, OB, I'm 46, so I have slightly less than 20 years till retirement.
The bad news is that if you are looking at Social Security, then it'll be slightly more than 20 years, as your benefits have been pushed back to requiring you reach the age of 67, not 65.
With the reduction of the surplus due to the failing economy and the recent tax rebates, tune in to see if they decide to push your benefits back even further (they are now considering dipping into Social Security to fund spending increases).
