Indeed, it's good to have a mix of pretax and aftertax money so as to be better able to take advantage of compounding and control your tax liability. Keep in mind that the "4-star" rating is historical. There is good evidence that high-Morningstar-rated funds tend to do worse (often, much worse) in the future. YOu have to choose between "keeping all the years of compounding" and "being cushioned against a 25% loss right before you were about to retire" (which is the goal of the REHP thinkers) |
