Apparently there's a proposal from the Senate to reintroduce U.S. War Bonds for the first time since WWII. Though the details don't seem to have been finalized, this might be a good investment opportunity for bond seekers, as well as a sign of patriotic support in these troubled times. has a short description at the bottom of the article.

I have some CDs and bonds reaching maturity next month. Perhaps the bonds will be ready by then so I can roll over the balances to them.
