The 30-year bonds quoted are the US Treasury 30-year bonds. Savings bonds are different issues. The EE savings bonds have their rates set every six months at 90% of the average yield for 5-year Treasury Notes for the previous six month period. You can get more information on savings bonds and how their interest is calculated at www.savingsbonds.gov .
