I hate, HATE selling at the bottom too. It sickens me. I've had to do it too often in the last year.
But that's the bottom line--I HAD to do it.
The only reason to hold onto (much less buy) a stock is if you think it has better growth potential than other investments.
Do you think that Yahoo! will return more than some other investment opportunities in the long run? If so, then you're right, keep it.
It doesn't sound like you're too sure though. Perhaps you're more confident in some other stocks you've been eyeing.
If this is the case, dump your Yahoo! and buy what you think will do better FROM THIS POINT ON. Nothing else makes rational sense.
