I posted this on the "fool pilots" board, but with no responses. Maybe someone here might have some insight...
I'm a military pilot (which doesn't require me to have any FAA ratings), however...
I have a commercial single and multi, instrument rating. Sometime within the next year or so, between this assignment and my next assignment, I'd like to go to the American Flyers instructor course. This course offers a CFI, CFII, and MEI in about 30 days. It's about $2500.
Any experience with these guys? I really like the idea of an intensive course like this--it seems to be much more inline with the military training philosophy than some of the other programs I've seen (besides, there's no way I'd crank these ratings out in my non-existent "free time"). It's also quick and fairly cheap. But I've never enrolled in a formal civilian training program before.
