Whoops- just posted a query and perhaps didn't make it clear that I'm only planniny to move daughter's 401-K to an online brokerage- not dissolve the savings vehicle.
I just want to reiterate a comment that Pixy made in his last post.
Online brokerages are extremely sensitive to people accessing accounts who aren't authorized. They will sic the federales on you so fast it'll make your head spin!!
I manage my son's IRA at E*Trade (he's a soldier in the Army), but I had to get a Durable Power of Attorney to do so. I would recommend that you be very careful with this. You aren't even allowed to logon to your daughter's account without this document (even if she gives you the password).
