I have been a single parent and my sister is a single parent. Like you, she never married because she realized dad was not really parent material. So, I think I understand your dilemma. Based on what I've seen with Sis and her boy and what I feel myself, I think I would choose based on how your daughter is dealing with the issue. If she doesn't seem to be feeling the lack of a father, I would just send a photo and the address. That way, he knows where she is if he grows up. And you have maintained enough contact to help foster a relationship is she develops a need to know her dad. If she is currently asking about her father (and she will, in time, even if she isn't now), I would go further. Send a letter and let him know she is asking about him. |
