I guess maybe you have to have been in a situation where you've had someone in authority tell you that you are damned, etc., before you start to feel strongly that it's better to err on the side of cutting religious mention out of state-sponsored activities, rather than having your child come home crying because "you're going to [x]". I have been in that situation. I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic schools. I read the bible and got the answers for myself. I figure, it's not like I'll be standing there on judgement day looking at said priest or nun <or other person who said that to me>. If I have a question, it's not likely the nuns and priests and rabbis are who I'd ultimately go to for answers.
