But he found things to do, like becoming a world famous scientist, founding the United States and being Ambassador to France, playing a key role in the revolution.
Because he did all this, he was hardly "retired." He was a scientist and statesman, not a golfer
He didn't have a 'web' to put up and maitain the perhaps the most used TMF message board, publish articles (oh, and he makes money doing that), working on his book.............
And, from what I recollect, Ben Franklin was quite the entertainer, world traveller, and enjoyed a nice lavish life....and made a few bucks along the way.....
I got a chuckle today....Robert Samuelson, in an opinion article in the Dallas Morning News, was bemoaning the fact that early retirees were no long contributing their 'work' to the economy.......quoted figures that nearly 50% of people over age 60 have dropped out of the work force.....
Guess he doesn't understand the current work environment, and is more concerned with watching 'economic output' climb than with the happiness of millions of those who 'escape' the rat race.
