Whoelsebut CCoy: Yes, when introduced to someone who has retired, for cryin' out loud, at age 31, one thinks, "Yikes! Whatsa guy like that do all day?!" Come to find out, he continues his activities (slightly working?) to make his money grow--yeaaaa!!--but in real estate--boooo!!
Golfwaymore is most certainly not maligned on this board for being into real estate, and to say that "he continues his activities" is rather overstating it. Go to some of his back posts to see just what he retired from.
Many of us, myself included have used real estate for investing, as you've been told ad nauseum. There have indeed been times when I've caught heat for it, but for crying out loud we just throw the heat right back and don't freakin whine endlessly about not being loved, the board is so unfair, blah, blah, blah. No one said it was cold here, we are a passionate bunch about many things, and yes, strongly opinionated.
If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen, but above all stop your bloody whining!
