Thank you all for your input to my question. I now know the difference between State Obligation and Revenue Bonds. Bit by bit, just be asking questions, I learn so much.( have lots and lots to learn) As explained I am now in the process of wanting to put more safety in my portfolio. However, from what I have been reading it seems this is not a good time to buy bonds. My plan is to buy individual bonds, probably ladder them, due maybe up to 7 yrs. as I think interest rates will eventually go up. Most of my fixed income is in CD's, one year and less, averaging 3%, and then a money market. I am loathe to tie up money in long term bonds at low, low interest rates. |
