You can certainly find a lot of help here, but this is a little to short a response. There are some bad consumer credit counseling services out there. They are for-profit, and tend to be as expensive as the hole you already dug yourself into. But there are also some genuine services out there, who have relationships with many credit card companies and other debt holders and can really help you negotiate down your debt levels and arrange an affordable payment schedule.
