The IRS ruled that should there be a significant change in ownership, the all important Net Operating Loss (i.e. future tax offsets) can still be retained. United got the judge to halt all major selling of shares to prevent the NOL's from becoming an issue. This IRS ruling will clear the way for selling to begin again, effectively ending the ESOP. http://www.quicken.com/investments/news_center/story/?story=NewsStory/dowJones/20030304/ON200303041728001123.var&column=P0DFP |
