I dont know if they are issuing new Sears Cards (non-MC)
Yes they are (at least 5 months ago the were). However, I don't think there is much logic to their system. My DW got a Sears card (Premier)with a 1000 credit limit about 12 months ago, she has a much lower credit score than I do. About 5 months ago I was making a purchase at Sears and never thought about her having a card so I applied for a card and got a Sears (regular) card with a 2500 credit limit (at least I got the 10% off for opening an account and 12 month same as cash deal) but it still seemed odd since my score is almost 200 points higher than hers. I guess no one said that Sears is logical.
BTW, they told me the rate is the rate, they dont negotiate....also, the int rate is the same on both my regular card and her premier card.
