One bit of naggy advice -- if you are buying a property with your boyfriend, take extra care to make sure what's yours is yours, and what's his is his. I'd hate to see a nasty breakup leave you with less than your investment. I'm no real estate genius, but whose name is the property being put in? Are you investing perfectly 50-50 into the property? Can you get some legal document drawn up that specifies exactly who owns what that will help you protect your money? Better advice -- get married before you start buying property with someone, or have just you, or just he own and COMPLETELY PAY for the property, with a rent arrangement if you are co-habitating. Which leads me into the argument against unmarried couples living together, but you can call Dr. Laura for that. Good luck, KBecks |
