should wait a couple more months for the Diesel version to come out but I'm a) not sure the diesel makes sense for a mostly city car ...........
To answer your question, don't guess. Run the numbers.
Compare the mpg of the car with a gas engine with the mpg of the TDI.
Divide the cost of a gallon of each fuel by the corresponding mpg to get a cost per mile for each car.
Can the diesel save enough on fuel costs to cover the extra cost of the diesel ENGINE ?
